Question by jason c: what other animals could live with water dragons?

I have a large tank with two water dragons in it and it is heavily planted and very tropical, what other animals,amphibians/reptiles could live with water dragons without harm coming to either animal?

to be 100% safe…none…

Water dragons get pretty big, so once they are grown they tend to go after smaller animals..

My dragon is pretty young right now, and I kept a whites dumpy tree frog in the tank with him (happend on accident) but the frog as almost as big as the dragon, so they got along…

So, it depends on how big your tank is and how big your dragons are….
You can try frogs, but anything else will really clash…

Hope this helps….GOOD LUCK!!!

Wow! I love Austrailn water dragons they are very beautiful! To your question at hand, the cage size for one pair of adult water dragons should be between 4 feet long by 2 feet high by 2 feet wide (4′x2′x2′) and even up to 3 feet high would do them just fine.

Question by Ryan: What is the best way to feed a chinese water dragon?

I cant seem to get my juvinile chinese water dragon to eat he is 11 inches i dont the sex. Everything i do he wont eat i feed crickets and super and mealworms. I would like to know the best way to feed him like hand feeding or Whatever and what to feed him and how to feed him.

Answer by ReptiMan
Feed it 3 crickets a day. In the wild they eat until they get full & then don’t eat for a week or so. In captivity the best way to feed them is 3 crickets a day like I said. If it is not eating just give it time. I would suggest dropping the crickets in the cage and if it doesn’t eat them within an hour just take them out. If it continues to refuse to feel free to email me at reptilesforlife@mail.com

Probably meat. And don’t keep it away from the mother for too long. If it can’t stay warm from a fire (like in the mother’s belly), it could die. Make sure it gets plenty of firebeans so it can breathe fire.

Q&A: How long does it take for a chinese water dragon tail to grow back?

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Question by Matt OF O’Reilly: How long does it take for a chinese water dragon tail to grow back?

I bought a water dragon and he seems pretty healthy, but his tail was missing when I got him. How long does it usually take to grow back?

Best answer:

Answer by Bonsylar
Months, if not years.
Depends on the environment and diet. Do lots of research on the little guys and follow all the requirements.

In the future, pass on reptiles missing tails, toes, scales, or anything else. It means they were roughly treated and stressed out. Not healthy.
