Question by ryanlogan12: which is better for long fantasy series for a magic and dragons fan?

I’ve heard of forgotten realms and dragonlance but don’t know which one is more suitable(or any other large series) for a fan of dragons and magic and such. I want to start reading a large fantasy series but can’t decide on one.

“Bruce, I don’t think you’re crazy, but you disgust me” Robert opines. This must be The SLEAZIEST Pitch on Dragons Den so far, it must be! All-cure mist in a easy to use spray bottle at 18.99 a pop? Ugh. Wow, that’s greasy, Mr. HiMac ;( Note: I meed to sort out a couple of issues which have risen of late; this is a Canadian show based on the UK Version based on the Japanese one. Shark Tank is the American show similar to this. Kevin and Robert are also on its panel. ST viewers welcome ;) Please, too , no more yelling at me about Canadians hating Americans and vice verse? It got so ugly that I had to do the comment approval thingie. I’m a nice chick, and it’s sad that the comments require moderating…we’re grown ups, we can make this work, right? Hope so and thank you ;~}} Also, any opinions of the Dragons are not always shared my moi. anyway Jim is my Dragon Knight for ousting the court’s ‘Charlatan’ so neatly!! :)

Question by Taylor: Dragons! What are your top favorite things in dragon or just plain fantasy books?

Dragons! What are your top favorite things in dragon fantasy books such as Eragon, etc.? And also what dragon fantasy books do you recommend for a teen crazy for fantasy books such as Lord of the Rings and Eragon? Go dragons and fantasy! W00t!

I prefer dragons in fantasy where they are more of a concept than a common figure. For example, in the wheel of time (a series you must read) the Dragon Reborn is unrelated to dragons entirely except for the fact that they represent power.

Guilty Pleasures ; The Laughing Corpse ; Circus of the Damned ; The Lunatic Cafe ; Bloody Bones ; The Killing Dance ; Burnt Offerings ; Blue Moon ; Obsidian Butterfly* ; Narcissus in Chains ; Cerulean Sins ; Incubus Dreams ; Micah ; Danse Macabre ; The Harlequin

But the series is really only good up to book 9*.
After that they became rather dull.

What is the title of a fantasy novel with dragons?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Question by Tom K.: What is the title of a fantasy novel with dragons?

A while ago I was on a business trip and in the room I was staying someone left a book in the drawer. With nothing to do at night, I decided to read it. I generally don’t like fantasy or scifi novels, but this one completely engrossed me for the entire three nights I stayed. I actually found myself wanting the day to end so I could get back to the book.

Anyway I’ve been trying to find this book, unfortunately I am unable to remember the title or author. What I remember of the story is it involved dragons, the land was broken into princedoms, and all came under the rule of a High Prince. Most of the story took place in a desert princedom. I believe this was the first in a series of books. I’ve been wanting to read this book again and continue with the story.

I am hoping someone who loves fantasy books will be able to help me out.

THE DRAGON LORD — When Rohan became the new prince of the Desert, ruler of the kingdom granted his family for as long as the long Sands spewed fire, he took the crown with two goals in mind. First and foremost, he sought to bring permanent peace to his world of divided princedoms, realms hovering always on the brink of war. And, in a land where dragon-slaying was a proof of manhood, Rohan was the sole champion of the dragons, fighting desperately to preserve the last remaining lords of the sky and with them a secret which might be the salvation of his people . . . .
