Some Famous Dragons in the Media ? Listed by Name

Draco – The last of the dragons in the epic movie Dragonheart, he had a pivotal role in the overthrow of the evil king Einon.

(The) Drunken Dragon – An inebriated lizard with a penchant for philosophy and humor.

Elliot (Pete’s Dragon) – Elliot is an invisible cartoon dragon, that can only be seen by his best friend Pete, a young boy with a warm heart and some abusive adoptive parents. When he runs away from home, Pete, and Elliot get into all sorts of adventures, all of which are chronicled in the classic Disney movie, Pete’s Dragon.

Merlin’s Dragon – In the movie Excalibur, the mighty dragon was the source of Merlins magical powers, and had to be invoked before any major spell could be cast.

Mushu – He is the tiny little dragon that accompanied Mulan in the epic Disney adventure.

Puff The Magic Dragon – A clever little dragon that was made famous by the song performed by Peter, Paul, and Mary. He lived in the land of Honnelly, and was good friends with Jacky Paper, until the little boy Jacky grew up, and lost interest in his dragon friend.

Smaug – Although he is most famous for his role in the book, the hobbit, the gold coveting beast also appeared in the animated version of that same title.

Vermithrax Pejorative – The horrific monster from the movie Dragonslayer. He demanded the sacrifice of virgin maidens to satisfy his temper, and stop him from destroying the people of Urland.

Xiandu – Xiandu is an ancient Japanese dragon that appears in the children’s television special “The Jacky Chan Adventures”. Xiandu is actually a demon that takes the shape of a dragon. He seeks to use the power of magical talismans to free himself, and his evil family, from their banishment in a dark dimension.
