Dungeons And Dragons Online Can Be Easily Learned

The D&D or “Dungeons and Dragons” is a brand name that is recognized by most people with online experience. The concept of the game was created back in the early 1970′s and was based on a board game with handmade small figurines. All the players had to role-play every reaction and consequence to make the figures “come to life”. Ever since then the tabletop game has been a beloved classic and it has endured through the many years, adapting and changing to match the present technology to a point where you can now play Dungeons and Dragons online in a virtual world. Ever since the 1970′s there are hundreds of copies of the concept. Some are better than others.

The game of role-playing can be a fun way of playing out your fantasies in persona and characters you couldn’t normally be IRL (in real life). Many people have come to enjoy playing and pretending to be someone else – at least for a little while. Even though the normal tabletop structure is still very popular, it will usually require getting a small group of people together to have a gaming session worthwhile. Still more and more players are turning to the concept of playing Dungeons and Dragons online for an easy and quick escapism and naturally for the entertainment it provides.

Are You Still Looking For More Information?

One of the best places to get more information on playing the game is the Dungeons and Dragons Online website also known as www.ddo.com. The site is a great and up to date virtual resource, as the epic game does have a rather huge set of regulations and rules on the process of character creation. You will find a store where you are able to buy the manuals and core books. They will teach you the game mechanics quickly. You can also use the free Quick Start guide and Compendium sections as a great free resource to learn how to create a Dungeons and Dragons online persona without waiting.

When you visit the www.ddo.com (The Dungeons and Dragons Online website) it provides you with guidelines that can help you flesh out a character concept and get you ready to instantly find a great game and start playing it right away. Please note that you won’t be able to play Dungeons and Dragons online directly on the website but there are many links and forums listing where you can search for the game. If that doesn’t help, doing a few quick searches on the internet for Dungeons and Dragons online role-playing games (I suggest www.Google.com) will provide you with links to great sites where games are constantly being played.

I the case that you find that playing Dungeons and Dragons online is not for you, but that you still find the idea of role-playing interesting, you have plenty of options to choose from. Go take a look around for tabletop groups in your neighbourhood – most people in the role-playing community are very friendly and open to meet new players. You can also find games called LARPs which is an acronym for ‘live-action role playing’ in which you literally pretend to be someone else than you actually are.

If playing elves and dwarves in a Dungeons and Dragons online game isn’t really your thing you don’t need to give up just yet. There are all sorts of other types of role-playing games, such as werewolf and vampire characters, everyday life styles games or modern-day or science fiction settings and even the new apocalypse games. There is something for just about everyone. The only thing you have to do is find what you enjoy most!

Dragons! What are your top favorite things in dragon fantasy books such as Eragon, etc.? And also what dragon fantasy books do you recommend for a teen crazy for fantasy books such as Lord of the Rings and Eragon? Go dragons and fantasy! W00t!

Best answer:

Answer by Michael
I prefer dragons in fantasy where they are more of a concept than a common figure. For example, in the wheel of time (a series you must read) the Dragon Reborn is unrelated to dragons entirely except for the fact that they represent power.

Chinese Astrology Predictions 2008: the Dragon

A new 12-year cycle started at Feb 7, 2008 with the Year of the Rat according to the Chinese calendar. This important cycle (or era) ends at Feb 5, 2019. It is a 12-year period generally ruled by the universal element of Earth. There are also other elements which rule over each of the 12 years. For example Earth rules over the first and the second year of the cycle (2008, 2009) while Metal rules over the third and the fourth year of the cycle (2010, 2011). The year 2008 is also ruled by the sign of the Rat and has a Yang (male) nature. So 2008 is the Yang year of the Earth Rat. What are the predictions for the sign of the Dragon for 2008? This is what this article is all about.

Dragon people in the new era will wait as usual for their favorable year to come before they reveal their plans. It’s not until the year 2012, that they will start spreading their dominating energy for all the world to see. 2012 is a year associated with many prophecies about the end of the world as we know it. It is a year when the Dragon will rise and start ruling. Until then, Dragons must make their plans and visualize their goals.

2008, the year of the Rat makes Dragon people extra eccentric and very sociable. It is a good year for all kinds of social meetings, festivals, feasts, parties etc. They will never go unnoticed in such occasions. It is also a great year to increase the number of their admirers and friends. Dragon people, although powerful leaders themselves, they rely on others to achieve their higher goals.

The element of Earth which rules over 2008, makes Dragon people a bit more manipulative, and arrogant. This is a behavior they must try to avoid though. They should approach everything and everyone with a more diplomatic and supportive way. Their unique attitude and self confidence will help them achieve that. The Earth’s effect will do more. Dragon people during 2008 will be selfish, suspicious and demanding causing frustration to others. They should work on these difficult issues.

The Yang (male) nature of 2008 will increase the Dragon’s sense of duty. It will also make it easy for others to take advantage of the Dragon’s loyalty and dignity. This is something people under this sign should pay attention to.

Here are my predictions using the five star system. This has to do with the overall positive energy that the Dragon will receive during 2008. One star (*) means less energy than expected, while five stars (*****) mean more energy than expected. Three stars (***) mean equal amount of positive and negative energy which is a balanced situation:

Dragon energy prediction for 2008
Work issues:****
Love issues:**
Social issues:***
Spiritual issues:****
Body issues:**

Dragon Tattoos: Choosing a Design

Dragon tattoo designs are extremely popular today with both men and women. Women usually prefer to have dragon tattoos on their arm, shoulder or foot whereas men will typically prefer the arm, back or leg.

Dragon tattoos can have a variety of meanings, varying from culture to culture. A dragon can often symbolize power, strength and courage. In many cultures, dragons are thought to have qualities like dignity, wisdom, power and fertility and are seen as bringers of luck. In certain parts of Asia they often represent the magical power associated with the water element.

Typical colors for dragon tattoos are red, black and green. And even though dragons typically breathe fire, it is rare that dragon tattoo designs have a dragon that breathes fire. A dragon tattoo can often blend well with other tattoos depicting anything from butterflies to skulls and wizards or symbols like ying-yang etc.

But keep in mind, a tattoo is painful and expensive to remove so it is important to take your time when picking out a design. Click here for links.

When searching the net for dragon tattoo flash, pictures/art, people usually go for free designs, but free designs are often of very poor quality. And considering that a tattoo is permanent, you should not risk being stuck with a poor design that you will end up regretting. There are many ways of finding tattoo designs today, among the most popular sources are magazines and books. Most big bookstores carry a variety of different books and magazines with many photos. You can also go to tattoo parlors or even tattoo conventions where you can get the opportunity to speak with the artists in person to give you ideas or help you design your dragon tattoo. However, the most convenient way is no doubt via the internet. This allows you to browse through designs at any hour of the day or night from the comfort of you own home.

When looking for a dragon tattoo design it is important to remember that you get what you pay for. If a design is free it is most likely done by an inexperienced artist and the design will be far below the quality of a tattoo designed by a professional artist. Removing a tattoo is painful and expensive so the golden rule is to always take your time when trying to find the perfect tattoo. Please visit my blog, Dragon Tattoo, for links and resources on finding the right dragon tattoo.

What is Dragon Ball Z

So you have heard the name before, most everyone has. However, it seems like a lot of people do not know what Dragon Ball Z is. Sure their kids watch it, and their coworkers are up to date with it, but there are some of us that are still left out in what’s “new” in Dragon Ball Z. For the most part Dragon Ball Z is a very popular animated TV show that was made by Toei Doga. The truth of the matter is Dragon Ball Z is actually the sequel to the first show, which was, of course, just called Dragon Ball. What most people do not know is that Dragon Ball did not just start off as a TV show; it actually started off as a manga series that went by the same name. A manga is pretty much a Japaneses style comic book that you read from back to front.

The Dragon Ball Z is about the adventures of Son Goku, who was brought up in the first series. This show is mostly just a continued adventure. In this adventure, Son Goku, along with all of his many companions, must defend the earth from super villains that come from other planets. The very first Dragon Ball show followed Goku from his childhood years up to adult. However, the Dragon Ball Z show follows Son Goku who was the first child of Goku. As the show first starts out it’s a lot more light hearted. However, as it goes on, it becomes much more dramatic as the villains become increasing stronger. Either way, it’s a great show and manga that many people love.

Now that Dragon Ball Z has gotten so big, many people are starting to follow the storyline and going back to watch all the old shows that they missed. You can also find tons of different Dragon Ball Z toys all over the place as you see stores trying to capitalize on the growth of the show. Although a lot of the shows are all ready over, a lot of people have gone back to watch them time and time again. As the fad that is Dragon Ball Z keeps growing, you can expect to see more things come out under the same name. So far they have made everything from clothing to video games, all with the Dragon Ball Z logo. People love this show, and they are going to keep watching it for a long time to come. Another thing that we are seeing a lot of now are the spin offs of this great show. A lot of people have seen how good the Dragon Ball Z show has done and are now trying to make their own shows that are just like it. Sometimes these shows may even include the same charters, but just a different plot all together. In the end, you have a story that is never just going to die out, because people are not going to let it. This has been a fad that has stood up to the test of time with flying colors.

Watch dragonball online to see the series and know more about DragonBall Z

The Mighty Komodo Dragon

Parental care in Komodo dragons is restricted to the females, who guard clutches of around 20 eggs for seven months. After hatching, young Komodo dragons often move into trees in order to avoid predation by adults. Young dragons take five years to reach maturity, after which they can live for fifty years. In captivity Komodo dragons have reproduced by parthenogenesis.

In spite of their large size, Komodo dragons were only discovered by Western scientists in 1910. Their large size and fearsome reputation makes them popular zoo exhibits. In the wild their range has contracted due to human activities and they are listed as vulnerable by the IUCN. They are protected under Indonesian law and a national park, Komodo National Park, was founded in order to protect them.

In the wild, large adults usually weigh around 70 kilograms (154 pounds).Captive specimens often weigh more. The largest verified wild specimen was 3.13 metres (10 feet 3 inches) long and weighed 166 kilograms (365 pounds), including undigested food.Komodo dragons have a tail that is as long as the body, as well as about 60 frequently-replaced serrated teeth that may be 2.5 centimetres (1 inch) in length.Their saliva will frequently be blood-tinged, because their teeth are almost completely covered by gingival tissue and this tissue is naturally lacerated during feeding. This creates an ideal culture for the virulent bacteria that live in their mouths. It also has a long, yellow, deeply-forked tongue.Males are larger than females, with skin color from dark grey to brick red, while females are more olive green, and have patches of yellow at the throat.[citation needed] The young are much more colorful by comparison, with yellow, green and white banding on a dark background.

Komodo dragons’ sense of hearing is not particularly acute, despite their visible earholes, and their visual discrimination (especially of stationary objects) is poor, although they can see in color. They use their tongue to detect taste and smell stimuli, as with many other reptiles, with the vomeronasal sense using a Jacobson’s organ, a sense that aids navigation in the dark. With the help of a favorable wind, they may be able to detect carrion up to 9.5 kilometres (6 miles) away. Komodo dragons’ nostrils are not of great use for smelling, as they do not have a diaphragm. They have no taste buds on their tongues, only a few in the back of the throat.

Their scales, some reinforced with bone, have sensory plaques connected to nerves that facilitate their sense of touch. The scales around the ears, lips, chin, and feet bottoms may have three or more sensory plaques.

Formerly, Komodo dragons were thought to be deaf when a study reported no agitation in wild Komodo dragons during whispers, raised voices, and shouts. This was disputed when London Zoological Garden employee Joan Proctor trained a captive monitor to come out to feed at the sound of her voice, even when she could not be seen.

Komodo dragons are found exclusively in Indonesia, on the island of Rinca and on several islands of the Lesser Sunda archipelago. They prefer hot and dry places, and typically live in dry open grassland, savanna and tropical forest at low elevations. As poikilotherms, they are most active in the day, although they do exhibit some nocturnal activity. Komodo dragons are largely solitary, coming together only to breed and eat. They are capable of running rapidly in brief sprints (up to 20 kilometres per hour [12.4 miles per hour]), are excellent swimmers (may dive up to 4.5 metres [15 feet]), and climb trees proficiently through use of their strong claws. To catch prey that is out of reach, they may stand on their hind legs and use their tail as a support.[ As Komodo dragons mature, their claws are used primarily as weapons, as their great mass makes climbing impractical.

For shelter, dragons dig holes that can measure from 1-3 metres (3-10 feet) wide with their powerful forelimbs and claws. Because of their large size and habit of sleeping in these holes, Komodo dragons are able to conserve body heat throughout the night and minimize their basking period the morning after.

Although attacks are very rare, Komodo dragons have been known to kill humans. On June 4 2007, a Komodo dragon attacked an eight year old boy on Komodo Island. He later died of massive bleeding from his wounds. It was the first recorded deadly attack in 33 years.

Dragon Ball Toys

If you have kids, it’s more than likely that you have heard the words Dragon Ball spoken in your house more times than you can count. That is because it’s a very popular show that comes on TV a lot. Not only that, but it’s a very popular comic book series and has a lot of video games made after it as well. It’s really like a selling juggernaut that can not be stopped. One of the main things that people are out there looking for nowadays are Dragon Ball toys. Now for the most part, you are going to think of kids whenever you think of Dragon Ball toys. After all, they make things like board games, action figures and video games. However, there are people all over the world of all different ages that collect these toys. Some of these toys are so popular that they are worth a lot of money. That gives people even more reason to hang on to them. So, really it does not matter what age you are, or if you like the show or not, people are out there buying these toys, and you have to admit that you know they are worth a lot of money.

So what kind of different toys do they have out there? Well, you can get everything from video games to action figures. However, there is so much more. Anything that you can think of has the Dragon Ball logo slapped on it. According to many on-line sites Dragon Ball is the biggest anime to hit America since Sailor Moon. Of course, the sales of Dragon Ball have still yet to pass Sailor Moon, but they are coming awfully close. This has a lot to do with how you can buy everything from Dragon Ball underpants to Dragon Ball launch boxes. The main reason why Dragon Ball has not been able to pass Sailor Moon as far as sales in toys go (as well as DVD and so on) is because Dragon Ball appeals mostly to the male crowd. Most girls do not like watching Dragon Ball. However, boys and girls alike liked to watch Sailor Moon. After all, girls think that they are pretty, and boys think they are hot. This is what you need when you are trying to get something to sell, and sell it has.

In the end, however, the sales of toys on things like Sailor Moon has started to slow down over time, and the Dragon Ball toys have started to increase in sales. If this kind of thing keeps up, then Dragon Ball will be the biggest anime to ever hit the United States. Although it has died out a lot more in Japan, a lot of the toys and things like that have been in Japan for years and are just now starting to make it overseas. If you want Dragon Ball toys as soon as they come out, then you are living in the wrong country. No matter where you live, however, you have to admit that Dragon Ball toys are very popular, and they are selling like hot cakes.

The Red Dragon of St. John, the Divine

Perhaps the dragon that has had the most influence on Westernized Christian thought is the red dragon that dominates the last book of the New Testament. The author of this book, who simply identified himself as John, had been exiled to the Isle of Patmos, a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea, where he received a brilliant vision in which he was welcomed into the heavens to witness all things which were to come. In the vision he was shown a book with seven sealed portions. He was allowed to see the contents of each sealed portion in turn and then commanded to write what he saw. It is at the very end of the seventh portion that we find the story of the red dragon.

The story begins when John sees a beautiful woman in childbirth. This is no ordinary woman; she is clothed in the sun, with the moon under her feet, and wears a crown of twelve stars. As she struggles to give birth, a great red dragon comes into view. He is as terrible as the woman is resplendent, a serpentine creature with seven heads and ten horns, and a crown on each head. With his mighty tail he draws away a third of the stars of heaven and violently throws them down to the earth. Thus announcing himself, he alights menacingly before the woman, threatening to devour her child as soon as it is born.

But the woman is able to save her newborn son, who is mysteriously secreted away to the throne of God, the dragon’s arch-enemy. God has a special interest in this baby, for it has been prophesied that he will one day become the ruler of all nations. The woman, thus assured that her child is protected, flees into the wilderness, where a refuge has been prepared for her.

Meanwhile God sends his angels, led by the valiant archangel Michael, to battle against the red dragon. The dragon is fierce, assisted by his own legion of demons, but eventually they are beaten and evicted from heaven.

On earth, the vengeful dragon seeks out the woman to torment her, but using two great eagle wings given her, she escapes; however, the red dragon possesses great powers, and even controls the weather. From his mouth he creates a flood to drown her. But the earth opens its gaping mouth and swallows the flood, aiding the woman in her escape. Frustrated, the dragon then turns his attention to the woman’s other children, who fill the earth. Hungry for revenge, the red dragon seeks help.

He doesn’t have to wait long before a hideous beast rises out of the sea. This beast also has seven heads and ten horns, but his body is that of a leopard, while his feet are those of a bear, and his mouth is that of a lion. The dragon, finding a worthy accomplice, grants the beast power and authority. While the inhabitants of the world watch, the beast reveals a deadly wound on one of its heads. As if by magic, the wound heals itself. Awe-struck, many people flock to the dragon and the beast, worshipping them and turning against God.

With their new army behind them, the beast and the dragon wage war against the inhabitants of the earth still faithful to god, overcoming them and taking many captives. And although the beast dies, he is replaced by another beast with two horns like a lamb. This second beast controls fire, making it fall from the sky. Like the dragon, he is also very wicked and teaches the people to worship the first beast. Indeed, he teaches them that they should kill anybody who won’t worship the first beast. Caught in this wicked fervor, the people began to mark their bodies, so that they can tell who worships the beast and who doesn’t.

Back in the heavens, the angels tell God about all that is happening on the earth with the dragon and the beasts. Enraged, God vows to punish any who has received the mark of the beast. From a cloud, the grown son of the woman descends, wearing a golden crown and carrying a sharp sickle in his hand. Calling the angels to his side, the armies of God prepare to visit the earth. Seven mighty angels appear, each bearing a terrible plague and a golden vial containing the wrath of God. God’s army is prepared to face the dragon in a final battle.

One by one the angels pour their vials out upon the beast-worshipers, inflicting them with sores, death, heat, darkness, hunger, and drought. Before the last angel pours the contents of his vial out, three magical frogs are pulled out of the mouths of the dragon and the beast, revealing how the evil creatures had received their powers. When the last vial is poured out, the ground begins to shake. Great hailstones fall from heaven. The mountains are flattened and the islands fall into the sea. All those who have marked themselves are overtaken and, along with the beast are thrown into a lake of fire. Finally, the son of the woman, who now sits upon the throne, rewards all the people who have remained faithful to God. Even those who have been killed are brought back to life. Beaten, the dragon is bound and shut in a bottomless pit where he can no longer deceive the nations for a thousand years.
