I know i need a feraligatr and a pokemon that knows dragon dance to breed, but what are the other specifics?

You need a male Pokemon who knows Dragon Dance, and your Feraligatr must be female. They also must be in the same egg group. Feraligatr can breed with the following Pokemon:
Charmander
Charmeleon
Charizard
Horsea
Seadra
Kingdra
Lapras
Dratini
Dragonair
Dragonite
Larvitar
Pupitar
Tyranitar

Bring your Feraligatr and the male Pokemon who knows Dragon Dance to the Daycare Center south of Goldenrod City. If the Daycare Man says something along the lines of “They get along well…”, then your Pokemon will breed to produce an egg. Just ride your bike for a while until he calls. Since Feraligatr is female, then it will produce a Totodile. If you don’t want a Totodile, then Feraligatr needs to be a male who knows Dragon Dance and the father needs to be the Pokemon you want the offspring to be. The offspring will be in the earliest evolved form.

Why not just get a ditto and breed that way? Always works unless its a non gender/legendary pokemon.
